Safeguarding Advice re Video Game
Please be aware of a video game which contains content unsuitable for young children. It is available on YouTube but may slip through parental control filters because of its name, Huggy Wuggy. It seems to be increasing in popularity and some retailers are selling soft toys of these characters.

Child Protection
At Market Weighton Infant School, we recognise that your child is our responsibility and concern. We want to work in partnership with you, and discuss with you any concerns we may have or that you may have. It is a priority to inform and involve you at every stage in your child’s time at school. However, since the first priority is your child’s welfare, there may be rare occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact you.
The East Riding Safeguarding Partnership has laid down the procedures we follow, and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy and Staff Code of Conduct (included below) in line with this for the safety of all. All staff receive regular child protection training,
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Kay-Wood.
The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) are Mrs Randle, Mr Parker and Mrs Cowan.
If you need to speak to one of our safeguarding leads, arrangements can be made through our school office on 01430 873159. Alternatively, please call into the school office.
Our Designated Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Hazel Beales. This role includes all safeguarding matters, including online safety.
We work together with other services for children and families to support the needs of children.
If you have any queries, suggestions or you are not happy about the way that a child protection matter has been dealt with, please send a letter to Mrs Beales via the office and mark your envelope 'Private & Confidential'.
If you wish to know more about this important area, please contact us.
